At EXPRESS, our overall aim is to encourage young performers to develop their love of live theatre. We have designed our workshops to equip each child with a broad range of drama techniques and skills that will build their confidence and self-esteem whilst having fun!
We believe that the rehearsal process is as important as the final performance. All children should have the opportunity to express themselves and explore the lives of others and the world around them in a creative setting. This opportunity to let your child's imagination fly can most definitely be found at Express!
Rosie and Louisa are both qualified teachers who are passionate about the theatre and working with young people. Rosie loves bringing her creativity to the classroom wherever possible. She is a Media Studies graduate and a full time teacher and has many years experience performing to children. Louisa has a degree in Theatre, Film and Television and trained as a Drama teacher. After working as an actor and musician, Louisa now teaches singing, cello, drama and music. She has four children who have, technically, left home whereas Rosie has a cat who has actually never even set foot outside!
For each workshop we are joined by a dance specialist. In previous workshops we were very lucky to be joined by Nick Crossley. Nick has taught ballet, contemporary and jazz at vocational colleges and schools across London including The BRIT School, Urdang, Bird College, Mountview, Reynolds Performing Arts and the MTA. Our children have also worked with Georgia Howlett who trained at Central School of Ballet and has been training in Italy. We are delighted to have Michaela working with us again this time. Michaela trained at BIM and is the most fabulous music theatre specialist. - we love her energy and we are so excited that she is back with us again to enthuse us all some more!
